Feet First on PhotoPeach

Room 11 Hawera Primary School

Welcome to Room 11 @ HPS.

Our class has 28 students and three teachers (though not three at the same time!). We have Mrs R and Mrs H who share the classroom teaching in Room 11 and Mrs W who teaches us in the ICT suite. Sweet eh?
We have been learning about Road Safety by participating in the Feet First Programme. Feet First is all about kids keeping fit and staying safe by walking to school in 'Walking'school buses. We held a Walking to School Day to kick it off and it was FANTASTIC! Walking School buses are fun because you get to walk and talk with your friends on the way to school.
We are also learning to write and recite speeches this term and learn how to make equal shares in fractions in maths.
We have a new learning programme in the senior syndicate this term called electives.Kids choose (or elect) to learn about a subject that interests them. We have Japanese, Drama, Mask making, Ukelele and Chess to choose from AND we also get the option to participate in kapa haka, choir or bookclub.
